2 Year Professional Trainee Scheme launched

Bollington is one of the largest and most successful independent insurance brokers in the UK. Based predominantly in the North West region, Bollington has been awarded Investors in People consistently for the last 10 years, employs over 200 people and has a major national presence.

Established in 1973, Bollington is a well established and financially stable broker who can be trusted to deliver first class service and a high level of professionalism. Most clients have remained loyal for many years and the business has grown through recommendation.

What is on offer?

The Professional Trainee Scheme was launched in 2013, this year they will be recruiting two talented individuals to work within their business on a two year Apprenticeship.  They are keen to recruit innovative individuals with a strong academic background, quick learners with an enthusiastic nature and a desire to develop a career within the Insurance sector.

On joining Bollington, the successful applicants will undertake a comprehensive introduction to the insurance business, the Bollington structure and culture. As part of the scheme, a Personal Development Plan will be constructed detailing areas of interest, timetable for the time spent at Bollington and learning milestones over a two year period.

Location: Based within the North West region.  However, you must be willing to travel or temporarily relocate to suit the business

Training: You will develop work place skills including project management, people management, decision making, negotiation and communication skills across the business.

You will be given the opportunity to work in a variety of departments including our Trading divisions, Underwriting & Marketing.

Professional Qualifications:Bollington are offering the professional trainee scheme as an apprenticeship to enable you to become qualified to Cert CII (professional insurance qualification).  After the initial 2 year period you will have the opportunity to continue on to Dip CII or ACII.

Mentoring and Support: Bollington will assign a mentor to offer valuable ongoing advice on your career goals and how best to achieve them.  You could also be assigned a buddy who has completed their CII Training and worked within the business for a number of years.  Someone you can share your thoughts with and provide you with practical support.

Completion: Once completed, Bollington will place you in the role that you both feel most comfortable for your skills and attributes. With the opportunity to fulfil your potential by quickly progressing through our company.

The Benefits

All employment offers come as part of a remuneration package.  The Professional Trainee Scheme offers the following:

Salary
1st year salary – £11,000
2nd year salary – £13,000

Annual Leave
24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

Contributory Pension Scheme
When the employee contributes 3% or 5% of their salary the Company will match the same value

Death in Service
4 x basic salary

 

Further Information

Hours of Work – Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch

Entry Requirements

Bollington are looking for articulate, numerate, driven individuals who can learn quickly and engage people at all levels.

They require the successful applicant to have 8 GCSE’s at grade A* to C or equivalent (achieved or expected) including Maths and English.

You should demonstrate that you are genuinely enthusiastic about developing a career in the Insurance industry.
