Bollington sponsor 2017 Emmaus UK Assembly

Emmaus

Bollington is proud to announce that we are a sponsor of the Emmaus Assembly event, taking place this weekend from Sunday 26th - Monday 27th March.

Emmaus is a unique charity which aims to provide accommodation, work and training for formerly homeless people who are looking to make a fresh start in life.  A number of charity shops are located across the UK, where people who live in an Emmaus community (known as 'companions') can trade wares that they have created themselves alongside second-hand goods, giving companions a sense of purpose and pride as part of their community.

The Emmaus Assembly is the biggest event in the calendar for the charity, bringing together communities from across the UK, and includes the charity's UK AGM, with speakers and workshops on a range of subjects and social activities.

Bollington is delighted to support the event, helping to provide places for companions at the Assembly over the two days alongside trustees and staff from the Emmaus UK Federation, as well as some international visitors.

Shelley Harvey, care account manager at Bollington, says: "It is a privilege to support Emmaus once again in their annual Assembly event.  Emmaus makes a real difference to the lives of people who find themselves homeless through a variety of circumstances, but who wish to get back on their feet and to feel a part of the community.

"We wish Emmaus great success with the event this weekend and look forward to continually supporting the organisation in the future."
