Till stolen during break-in at Lincolnshire convenience store

Thieves in Lincolnshire have broken into a convenience store through the roof before making away with the till and various other items.

Police are on the hunt for the culprits of the break-in at the Spar shop in Grantham Road, Sleaford, which took place just before 3.30am on 11 November, the Lincolnshire Echo reported. According to the local paper, the thieves stole the till, lottery tickets, and cigarettes, but the exact items and their value is yet to be revealed.

Whether they are selling basic goods or designer clothes, retailers must always be wary of thieves breaking into their shop and stealing items. Business insurance provides cover for this exact purpose, with specialist shop insurance available to help retailers trading from a set premises.

Commenting on the break-in at the Spar shop, Sleaford town councillor Garry Titmus stated that the event was very uncommon in the area.

He said: "This is a vary rare occurrence in Sleaford and it is shocking. Sleaford is a very safe and secure place to live in so it does come as a shock when you get crime this close to the town centre.

"Residents shouldn't be concerned about this but it may be a reminder to make sure our houses are as secure as they possibly can be."

Police officers are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.
