Information sought after cars destroyed in arson attack

Police are appealing to the public for information after a garage in Callington was the subject of an arson attack.

Callington Motors in Kelly Bray was the target of arsonists last month between 6am and 6.45am in the morning of Saturday 27 September. The garage itself was unharmed, but three vehicles parked on the forecourt were not so lucky.

The owners of Callington Motors will be upset to have been targeted in such an attack, but granted they have sufficient motor trade insurance cover, their losses won’t be so dire. A combined motor trade insurance policy – which covers everything from employees driving vehicles on the site to the garage building itself – will ensure that all vehicles parked at the site are covered in rare instances such as this.

The three vehicles damaged in the fire include a white Porsche Boxster, a Toyota Hiace and a silver Chrysler. All were set alight during the incident and have been left in such a state that they are damaged beyond repair, the Cornish Guardian reported.

Police are asking for anyone who saw any suspicious activity or individuals in the area at the time of the attack to contact them or Crimestoppers with their information.
