Sixth title in eight years for independent dealership

An independent family-owned car dealership has driven off with a top title for its performance for the sixth time in the last eight years.

CEJ 3000 Car Sales of Rotherham was named the Retailer of the Year at this year’s South Yorkshire Trading Standards Motor Trade Partnership Annual Seminar. The business, which first won the title back in 2008, has been named runner-up in the awards the two years that it did not take the top title.

Independent car dealerships looking to expand their businesses should check they have the right coverage for their business. Making sure they have the right level of motor trade insurance is vital not only for the businesses but for their customers too.

CEJ 3000 Car Sales scooped the top prize at the seminar, which provides an annual forum for businesses in the sector to discuss the market with trading standards officials and hear from guest speakers. The runner-up award in the scheme went to Piper Car Sales of Ticknell, which has now been trading for 12 years. Both firms were congratulated on their successes by Doncaster’s mayor, Councillor Paul Wray, who hosted the awards ceremony.

A South Yorkshire Trading Standards spokesman said: “Retail businesses find themselves in ever increasingly difficult trading times nationally, however, scheme members have yet again proved that the provision of excellent, open and honest customer service throughout the buying process and beyond is something that they are committed do.”
